IQT Korea arrives in Incheon in late November, when the peninsula has tipped into a dry, bright early winter - days around 6C, cold mornings and very little rain. Incheon is Seoul's port city and gateway, and the Songdo district where most international events run is a planned waterfront business quarter built on reclaimed land: wide, modern, easy to navigate, and a short ride from the airport rather than an hour into the capital.
Incheon International (ICN) is the arrival point, and Songdo is around 25-30 minutes away by taxi or airport bus - much closer than central Seoul. The AREX line links ICN to Seoul Station in under an hour if you are staying in the capital instead, and Incheon Subway Line 1 connects Songdo to the wider network. Transport cards (T-money) work across subway, bus and taxis nationwide.

South Korea has some of the fastest mobile data anywhere and near-total coverage on transit. Songdo Central Park. A seawater canal park at the centre of the Songdo district, walkable from the business hotels, with kayaks and a stone garden. It is the easiest way to see what a purpose-built smart city actually looks like at ground level. An hour, best on a clear cold afternoon.
Incheon Chinatown. Korea's oldest Chinatown, near Incheon Station, birthplace of jjajangmyeon and full of bakeries and murals climbing the hill to Jayu Park. Combine with the adjacent Open Port area's colonial-era architecture. Two hours, and dress warmly - it is exposed. Tickets on Klook →
Wolmido. A small island connected by causeway with a seafront promenade, fish restaurants and an old-fashioned amusement park. A short ride from Chinatown and a good sunset stop over the Yellow Sea. Around 90 minutes; quieter in winter, which is part of the appeal.

How far is Songdo from Incheon Airport?
About 25-30 minutes by taxi or airport bus, considerably closer than central Seoul. There is no need to base yourself in the capital for the conference.
What is the weather like in late November?
Early winter - around 6C by day, colder at night, dry and often clear. A proper winter coat is needed, particularly near the waterfront.
How do I pay for transport?
A T-money card, sold at convenience stores and airport counters, works on subway, buses and many taxis across the country. Many international contactless cards are not accepted at subway gates.
