PyCon Lithuania 2027 runs at the very end of April in Vilnius, as the Baltic spring finally takes hold: parks along the Neris river turn green, cafe tables return to the cobbled streets, and daylight stretches well into the evening. For Python developers and data practitioners on the three-day schedule, the Lithuanian capital is an approachable host. Its baroque Old Town, one of the largest surviving medieval quarters in northern Europe, sits beside a compact modern business district, and almost everything is reachable on foot.
Vilnius Airport (VNO) is only about six kilometres south of the centre. City buses and a short train shuttle link the terminal with the main railway and bus station area in roughly 10 to 20 minutes, and taxis or ride-hailing cars reach Old Town hotels in about 15 to 20 minutes. Kaunas Airport (KUN), used by several low-cost carriers, is around 100 kilometres away, with coach connections to Vilnius taking approximately an hour and a half.

Užupis. Galleries, workshops and riverside bars fill its few streets. An hour in the early evening is ideal, followed by dinner nearby.
Trakai Island Castle. About 28 kilometres west of Vilnius, a red-brick Gothic castle stands on an island in Lake Galvė, reached by a wooden footbridge. Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights. Housed in the former KGB headquarters on Gediminas Avenue, this museum documents the Soviet and Nazi occupations of Lithuania, including preserved basement prison cells. It is a sombre but important visit for understanding the country's recent history. Around ninety minutes is sufficient, and it lies within easy walking distance of the central hotels.
