Software Freedom Kosova (SFK) is the leading annual open-source conference in Southeastern Europe, hosted in Prishtina by FLOSSK, Kosovo's free software community. For nearly two decades, SFK has convened developers, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and activists to exchange knowledge and advance free/libre and open-source software and hardware initiatives across the region. The 2026 edition will be hosted at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Prishtina, with all presentations conducted in English and speaker travel and accommodation covered by the organisers. Content spans free software philosophy, open-source projects, Linux and embedded systems, open hardware, digital rights, and the role of open technology in education and policy. SFK has played a quiet but significant role in shaping Kosovo's tech sector and the wider Balkan open-source community, making it a unique destination for anyone interested in software freedom outside the more commercial European conference circuit.
