For a large enterprise technology expo the compensation is that February is London's quietest tourist month: museums, galleries and restaurants are bookable at short notice. Build your evenings around indoor culture and the South Bank rather than parks.
Four airports serve the city. Heathrow (LHR) links in by Elizabeth line or Piccadilly line, Gatwick (LGW) by Gatwick Express or Thameslink, Stansted (STN) by Stansted Express, and Luton (LTN) via a shuttle to its rail station. Eurostar arrives at St Pancras International from Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. Across the city, contactless payment on Tube, bus, DLR and Overground caps automatically each day.

British Museum. Free entry to a collection spanning the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures and Assyrian reliefs, under Norman Foster's glazed Great Court roof. Tate Modern. A converted Bankside power station holding the national collection of international modern art, with free permanent galleries and ticketed temporary shows. Covent Garden. The former market building and its surrounding piazza stay busy year-round with street performers, shops and restaurants, and much of it is under cover. It is a practical evening option in February when outdoor sightseeing loses its appeal early. An hour or two, more if you eat there.
Royal Observatory Greenwich. On the hill above Maritime Greenwich, home of the prime meridian and a strong astronomy collection, with a wide view back over Canary Wharf. How cold is London in February?
Cold and often damp, typically hovering a few degrees above freezing with early darkness by late afternoon. A proper coat and waterproof shoes make the difference.
Which airport is most convenient?
It depends on your route, but all four main airports have direct rail links into central London. Heathrow on the Elizabeth line is usually the fastest and simplest.
Are museums free?
