Late April is one of the better windows for Las Vegas: warm and dry, before the summer heat turns midday walking unpleasant. A payments conference puts delegates in the resort corridor, where the walk between two neighbouring properties can still take twenty minutes through casino floors and pedestrian bridges. Away from the Strip the city flattens quickly into ordinary suburbs and, beyond them, red rock desert.
Harry Reid International (LAS) sits barely three miles from the resort corridor, five to fifteen minutes by taxi or rideshare depending on traffic. Rideshare pickup is on a designated parking level rather than kerbside. Resort-corridor buses run around the clock, and the monorail links several east-side properties. Distances on the Strip look far shorter on a map than they walk.

The Neon Museum. A yard of salvaged casino signage from the city's earlier decades, arranged as an outdoor walk-through. Book an evening slot when a portion of the collection is illuminated. Hoover Dam. Roughly forty-five minutes southeast, a 1930s concrete arch dam spanning the Colorado River gorge, with a bridge walkway giving the full view of the structure. Fremont Street. The original downtown casino strip, now under a canopy screen several blocks long, denser and rougher-edged than the resort corridor. It is about fifteen minutes by car from the convention district. Best after dark; two hours covers it, including the older casino bars off the main run.
How walkable is the Strip between venues?
Less than it appears. Neighbouring resorts are large enough that a short map distance can mean a twenty-minute walk through interior floors and overpasses.
What is the weather like in late April?
Warm and dry, pleasant in the mornings and evenings, hot in direct afternoon sun. Nights can still be cool enough for a light layer.
Is a rental car worth it?
Only for desert trips such as Hoover Dam or Red Rock. Within the corridor, parking fees and traffic make rideshare the easier choice.
