AWS Community Day UAE falls in the first days of October, right at the point where Dubai's summer breaks and outdoor life restarts. Expect daytime highs still in the mid-30s Celsius but evenings that finally make terraces usable again. It is a single-day event, so most attendees fly in around the weekend and spend the spare time in the older creek-side districts rather than the towers — Deira, Bur Dubai and Al Fahidi are all a short Metro ride from the modern business areas.
Dubai International (DXB) is unusually close to the city — 15 to 25 minutes to most central hotels — and connects directly to the Metro Red Line from Terminals 1 and 3. Al Maktoum (DWC) serves some budget carriers and sits much further south. The Metro plus a Nol card covers the main corridors cheaply; ride-hailing and taxis fill the gaps, and both are plentiful.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Restored wind-tower houses, narrow lanes and small galleries beside Dubai Creek — the counterweight to the skyline. Combine it with an abra crossing to the Deira souks for a couple of dirhams. Best in the early morning before the heat peaks.

Kite Beach. A public stretch on the Jumeirah shore with a running track, food shacks and a clear line of sight to the Burj Al Arab. Early October sea temperatures are warm. Go at sunrise or after sunset; midday sun is still punishing at this time of year.
