The Hong Kong Web3 Festival returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai in late April, a large three-day gathering of crypto builders, investors and regulators. April sits in Hong Kong's warm, increasingly humid spring, before the summer storm season. The HKCEC's harbourfront location puts Victoria Harbour, the Wan Chai bar district and the Star Ferry within walking distance — useful when side events stretch across the city each evening.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is linked to Hong Kong Station in Central by the Airport Express in about 25 minutes. From Central, the MTR to Wan Chai or Exhibition Centre station, or a short taxi ride, reaches the HKCEC. Taxis directly from the airport to Wan Chai typically take 35–45 minutes. An Octopus card, or a contactless bank card on many routes, covers the MTR, trams, buses and ferries.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.
Mobile coverage across Hong Kong, including MTR tunnels, is excellent, though the HKCEC Wi-Fi can be stretched by a large crowd. Most visitors set up an eSIM to stay online between side events. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Wan Chai harbourfront promenade. Directly outside the HKCEC, the waterfront promenade offers views across Victoria Harbour to Kowloon. It is a short walk between sessions; around 8 pm the nightly light show plays across the skyline, making it a good meeting point before evening side events.
Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. The Star Ferry crosses the harbour from the Wan Chai pier near the venue in under ten minutes and costs very little. The crossing itself is the attraction; on the Kowloon side, the Avenue of Stars and the Museum of Art are close to the pier. Tickets on Klook →
Victoria Peak. The Peak Tram from Central climbs to the city's best-known viewpoint. Allow 2–3 hours including queues; going early on a weekday morning, or on a clear April evening after the festival, gives the best chance of avoiding long waits. Tickets on Klook →
How do I get from Hong Kong airport to the HKCEC?
Take the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station in about 25 minutes, then a short MTR or taxi ride to Wan Chai. A direct taxi usually takes 35–45 minutes.
What is the weather in Hong Kong in late April?
Expect warm, humid days typically in the mid-20s °C, with a chance of showers. Indoor venues are strongly air-conditioned, so a light layer helps.
