Singapore Expo sits out east near Changi rather than in the central business district, which turns out to be an advantage: delegates land and are at the halls within minutes. Late November falls in the northeast monsoon, so expect around 31C, high humidity and heavy but short afternoon downpours. The festival scale is enormous, and the city's air-conditioned, entirely walkable transit network is what makes moving between venues and evening events practical.
Changi (SIN) is one MRT stop from Expo station on the Downtown Line, roughly five minutes, making this one of the shortest airport-to-venue transfers anywhere. The city centre is about 30 minutes by MRT from Expo. Trains are frequent, clean and signposted in English, and contactless bank cards work directly at the gates without buying a separate ticket.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Welcome Pickups. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.
Singapore has excellent public wifi and network coverage, but a festival of this size congests venue networks badly. An eSIM set up before departure gives you independent data across the Expo halls and the city. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Gardens by the Bay. The Supertree Grove and the two cooled conservatories on the Marina Bay waterfront, about 25 minutes from Expo by MRT. The free Garden Rhapsody light show runs nightly at the Supertrees. Go late afternoon into evening; the conservatories are a welcome escape from the humidity. Tickets on Klook →
Hawker centres. Maxwell Food Centre and Lau Pa Sat are the two easiest introductions to Singapore's hawker culture, a UNESCO-listed tradition. Stalls are cheap, queues signal quality, and dinner rarely takes more than 40 minutes. Lau Pa Sat's satay street opens in the evening when the road closes.
National Gallery Singapore. Southeast Asian and Singaporean art housed in the restored former Supreme Court and City Hall, in the civic district. The building itself justifies the visit and the rooftop bar has one of the best Marina Bay views. Two hours is comfortable. Tickets on Klook →
East Coast Park. A long stretch of beachfront park between Expo and the city, good for an early-morning run or a seafood dinner at the East Coast Lagoon Food Village. Closest of the major green spaces to the Expo hotels, about 15 minutes by taxi.
How far is Singapore Expo from Changi Airport?
One MRT stop on the Downtown Line, about five minutes. It is among the shortest airport-to-venue transfers of any major conference.
What is the weather like in late November?
Around 31C with very high humidity, during the northeast monsoon. Expect heavy but short afternoon rain most days and plan indoor transitions accordingly.
How do I pay for transit?
Tap a contactless bank card or phone directly at MRT and bus gates. There is no need to buy a separate transit card for a short stay.
