Stockholm in mid-October is cold and dark early, with sunset around six and the archipelago water already wintry. Södermalm, the southern island where much of the city's developer community works, is built on a height with views north over the old town. Skansen. An open-air museum of relocated historic Swedish buildings on Djurgården, with a Nordic zoo attached. Three hours minimum given the hillside site.
