King of Prussia sits in the Philadelphia suburbs of Pennsylvania, at the centre of a life-sciences corridor that has grown up along the interstate west of the city. It is not a walkable town, and a two-day event here is best treated as a base with a car rather than a destination in itself. Mid-November brings bare trees and cold mornings, with the surrounding Schuylkill valley and Philadelphia both within easy reach.
Philadelphia International (PHL) is about forty-five minutes away by road and is the practical arrival airport. Public transport exists via SEPTA regional rail and a bus connection but is slow and indirect for this route; most visitors drive or take a rideshare. Amtrak serves Philadelphia's 30th Street Station from New York and Washington, from where a car or taxi covers the final leg.

Valley Forge National Historical Park. The 1777 Continental Army winter encampment, preserved as thirteen square kilometres of open parkland with reconstructed huts and a ten-mile loop road. Free to enter. Ninety minutes to half a day, and it begins within a few minutes' drive of King of Prussia.
King of Prussia Mall. One of the largest shopping centres in the United States by retail area, immediately adjacent to most local hotels and a practical destination on a cold evening. Its scale is genuinely unusual. An hour or considerably more depending on intent.
Philadelphia Museum of Art. A major encyclopaedic collection at the head of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, roughly forty minutes away by road. The building and its steps are as well known as the holdings. Allow half a day including travel from the suburbs.
Schuylkill River Trail. A paved multi-use path following the river from Valley Forge toward Philadelphia, usable on foot or by bicycle and flat throughout. An out-and-back of an hour from the northern trailheads is easy to fit around sessions.
Do I need a car?
Effectively yes. King of Prussia is built around road access and public transport connections to Philadelphia are slow and infrequent.
How far is Philadelphia city centre?
Around forty minutes by road outside peak hours, longer during the morning and evening commutes on the Schuylkill Expressway.
