Mercado Central de Atarazanas. A Moorish shipyard gate survives as the entrance to a nineteenth-century iron market hall with an enormous stained-glass window at one end. Fish, ham and produce stalls trade in the morning; the bars along the sides serve from the counters. It closes early afternoon, so go before lunch.
Caminito del Rey. A boardwalk pinned to a gorge wall an hour north of Málaga runs three kilometres above the Guadalhorce river. Tickets are timed and sell out weeks ahead, walking is one-way with a shuttle bus back, and the whole trip takes most of a day. October weather suits it well.
