Delhi in late November is in its brief comfortable season, though air quality after the autumn crop-burning period is a genuine consideration. For a two-day enterprise IT event, the capital offers something no other Indian city can: Mughal monuments, colonial-era planning and contemporary government all within one metropolitan area. Mornings are cool enough for a jacket and afternoons are warm and clear.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) connects to New Delhi railway station by the Airport Express metro in about twenty minutes, which comfortably beats road transfer. The Delhi Metro is extensive, clean and inexpensive, and is the sensible default for crossing the city. App cabs work well for shorter hops. Gurugram and Noida, where many corporate venues sit, are both on metro lines.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.
Foreign visitors face documentation requirements for local SIM cards. An eSIM arranged before arrival is far less trouble. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Humayun's Tomb. The sixteenth-century Mughal garden tomb that set the architectural template later refined at the Taj Mahal. The restored charbagh gardens are as important as the mausoleum. Ninety minutes, and early morning gives both the best light and the thinnest crowds. Tickets on Klook →
Qutub Minar. A 73-metre victory tower of fluted red sandstone dating from the twelfth century, standing among ruins that include an uncorroded ancient iron pillar. The complex rewards slow walking. Around ninety minutes, and it sits at the southern end of the metro's Yellow Line. Tickets on Klook →
Lodhi Garden. Ninety acres of parkland containing fifteenth-century tombs, used daily by residents for walking and yoga. It is the most pleasant free space in central Delhi and rarely feels touristic. An hour, ideally at sunrise or in the late afternoon.
Old Delhi and Chandni Chowk. A dense seventeenth-century quarter of narrow lanes, wholesale markets and street food, best approached with a guide or a clear plan. Jama Masjid anchors the area. Two to three hours, and going on foot or by cycle rickshaw is the only realistic option.
Is air quality a concern in late November?
It can be. Delhi's air quality often deteriorates in the post-monsoon period, and visitors with respiratory sensitivity may want to carry an N95 mask.
What is the best way to cross the city?
The Delhi Metro. It is fast, air-conditioned, inexpensive and avoids the road congestion entirely.
How warm is it during the day?
Daytime highs typically reach the mid-twenties Celsius, with noticeably cool mornings and evenings around ten degrees.
