Extremadura Digital Day puts a developer conference inside a UNESCO-listed walled town in early October, when Cáceres has shed the ferocious summer heat and settles into warm days and genuinely cool nights. The Ciudad Monumental is a few minutes' walk from the modern quarter where attendees stay, and its storks, towers and stone lanes are essentially unchanged since the sixteenth century. Cáceres has no meaningful commercial airport of its own. Most delegates fly into Madrid-Barajas (MAD) and take the train or drive west, roughly three to four hours; Seville (SVQ) and Lisbon are comparable alternatives from the south and west. Badajoz (BJZ) is closest but has very limited service. The town centre is small enough to cross on foot, so a hire car is only worth it for exploring the wider region.

Coverage in Cáceres itself is solid, but signal gets patchy on the rural roads through Extremadura if you drive out to the dehesa or Mérida. Madrid-Barajas (MAD) is the usual choice, roughly three to four hours away by train or car. Badajoz is closer but has very few flights.
