FOSS for All Conference is an open source conference in Korea that gives attention both to well-known global projects and to lesser-known projects that play important roles behind the scenes. Organised by the FOSS for All community, it is open to anyone interested in open source, from first-time contributors to experienced maintainers, and it treats open source as a broad practice rather than only a coding activity. The 2026 edition takes place on 28 November 2026 in Seoul, on the 18th floor of AWS Korea. The one-day program combines keynotes, talks and workshops on technology, governance, documentation, community operations and real-world adoption cases, along with a booth area where sponsors and open source communities meet attendees. Registration for the in-person event opened in October 2026. Participants can discover projects they may not encounter elsewhere, learn how communities are run and sustained, and meet maintainers and companies active in the Korean open source scene. By giving equal weight to governance, documentation and community work alongside code, this open source conference in Seoul highlights the less visible effort that keeps free software healthy.

Seoul at the end of November is cold and bright, with the first serious chill of the season settling over a city where public infrastructure runs with unusual precision. A single-day open source gathering here connects with a developer community that is large, well-organised and increasingly outward-facing. The Han River divides the city, and almost everything a visitor needs sits on one metro line or another.
Incheon International Airport (ICN) links to central Seoul by the AREX express train in about 45 minutes, or the all-stop service for less. Gimpo (GMP) is closer and handles some regional flights. Seoul's metro is among the world's best: signed in English, punctual and cheap, with a rechargeable T-money card covering metro, bus and taxi. Taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.

Korea's mobile networks are exceptionally fast but visitor SIM options require airport counters and queueing. An eSIM works from the moment the plane lands. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Gyeongbokgung Palace. The principal Joseon dynasty palace, with a changing-of-the-guard ceremony several times daily and the National Folk Museum inside the grounds. Visitors in hanbok enter free. Two hours covers it properly, and clear winter mornings give the sharpest views of the mountains behind. Tickets on Klook →
Bukchon Hanok Village. A hillside neighbourhood of traditional wooden houses still lived in, sandwiched between two palaces. Residents have asked visitors to keep noise down, and signage enforces quiet hours. An hour of walking, best mid-morning on a weekday.
Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Zaha Hadid's fluid aluminium structure, housing exhibitions, design shops and a preserved section of the old city wall outside. It stays open late and is dramatic when lit. Around ninety minutes, and it anchors a district that trades through the night.
Namsan and N Seoul Tower. A forested peak in the middle of the city, reachable by cable car or a thirty-minute uphill walk, with an observation tower at the summit. Winter air gives exceptional clarity. Allow two hours including the ascent and time at the top. Tickets on Klook →
How do I get from Incheon airport to the city?
The AREX express train reaches Seoul Station in roughly 45 minutes. Limousine buses serve major hotel districts directly and are a good alternative with luggage.
Do I need a transit card?
A T-money card is strongly recommended. It works across metro, buses and taxis and is sold at any convenience store.
How cold is late November?
Cold and dry, with daytime highs around five to ten degrees Celsius and sub-zero mornings. A proper winter coat is needed.
