JSWORLD Conference 2027 is a large JavaScript conference organised by Frontend Revolution BV in Amsterdam, presented by its organisers as the tenth and final edition of the series. It is aimed primarily at senior JavaScript and TypeScript engineers, framework authors and technical leads who want an overview of where the language, runtimes and tooling are heading. The conference takes place at Theater Amsterdam in March 2027, in the same venue and week as Vue.js Amsterdam, with around 1,000 people attending in person and a livestream for remote viewers. The programme looks at AI-assisted development and agentic workflows, TypeScript at scale, browser APIs, edge runtimes, WebAssembly, performance, architecture, observability and security, as well as a retrospective on a decade of JavaScript frameworks and the future of JavaScript careers. Alongside the main stage, the ticket includes a workshop on reviewing code produced by AI agents, giving attendees a hands-on component in addition to talks. Catering, workstations and an evening networking programme round out the day. As a JavaScript conference in Amsterdam 2027 that closes a ten-year run, the event offers the European JavaScript community a moment to assess both recent progress and the next phase of web development.

JSWORLD takes over Theater Amsterdam for one March day, which puts the conference in the Houthavens on the western waterfront rather than in the canal ring most visitors picture. That matters: the surrounding docklands are all reclaimed industry and new-build architecture, a fifteen-minute tram ride from the centre. Mid-March is early spring here, with the first bulbs out and the tourist crush still weeks away.
Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) links to Amsterdam Centraal by direct train in 15 to 20 minutes, running through the night at reduced frequency. From Centraal, trams and buses head west toward the Houthavens in about ten minutes. The GVB network takes contactless bank cards directly at the gates. Free ferries across the IJ to Amsterdam-Noord depart from behind Centraal and cost nothing at all.

Wi-Fi is standard across venues, trains and cafes, and Dutch mobile coverage is dense. An eSIM activated before you land is the simplest option for a single-day trip with no time to spare on errands. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
NDSM Wharf. A former shipyard across the IJ turned into a sprawl of street art, studios and waterfront bars inside the hulls of old industrial sheds. The free ferry from behind Centraal takes fifteen minutes and is itself the best cheap harbour tour in the city. Two hours, and it is the natural counterpart to a west-side venue.
Het Schip. A museum inside a 1920s Amsterdam School housing block in the Spaarndammerbuurt, ten minutes from the Houthavens on foot. The expressionist brickwork was social housing designed as sculpture, and the restored postal office interior is intact. Around ninety minutes, and it is rarely busy.
Westerpark and Het Sieraad. A converted gasworks site west of the centre combining parkland with a cultural complex of cinemas, cafes and event spaces. Mid-March brings the first real park weather of the year. An hour or two, and it sits between the Houthavens and the canal ring, making it an easy stop either way.
Rijksmuseum gardens. The gardens surrounding the national museum are free to enter without a museum ticket and hold a rotating outdoor sculpture display, with early bulbs in flower by March. It is a way to see the building and grounds if you have no time for the collection itself. Thirty minutes, or half a day if you go inside. Tickets on Tiqets →
How do I reach the Houthavens from Centraal?
Take a tram or bus west along the waterfront; the ride is about ten minutes. Cycling takes a similar time if you rent, and walking is roughly half an hour.
What is the weather like in mid-March?
Cool and changeable, with early spring temperatures and a good chance of wind and rain off the IJ. A windproof layer matters more than a heavy coat.
Are the IJ ferries really free?
Yes. The GVB ferries from behind Centraal to Amsterdam-Noord and NDSM carry passengers and bikes at no charge, and run frequently through the day.
