KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2026 is the flagship annual conference of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, bringing together adopters and technologists from the leading open source and cloud native communities. Held over four days in Salt Lake City, Utah, the event covers Kubernetes, containers, observability, security, service mesh, and platform engineering through keynotes, breakout sessions, and a large solutions showcase. A substantial programme of co-located events runs alongside the main conference, including ArgoCon, CiliumCon, and Platform Engineering Day, each dedicated to a specific project or discipline within the ecosystem. The conference is where CNCF graduated, incubating, and sandbox projects converge, giving attendees direct access to the maintainers who develop them. Engineers, SREs, and platform teams gain practical guidance on running cloud native infrastructure at scale, alongside extensive networking across the open source community. For practitioners working with Kubernetes and cloud native technology, this remains the definitive North American event of the year.
KubeCon CloudNativeCon North America 2026 takes place November 9–12, 2026 in Salt Lake City, United States.
KubeCon CloudNativeCon North America 2026 is an in-person event.

Salt Lake City hosts this cloud native gathering in the second week of November, when the valley floor is crisp and dry and the first snow has usually settled on the Wasatch peaks that frame the skyline. The downtown convention district sits on a generous grid of wide blocks, walkable end to end in twenty minutes, with hotels, coffee and dinner all within a short stroll of the halls. The mountains an hour east are the distinguishing draw for anyone extending the trip.
Salt Lake City International (SLC) sits roughly ten kilometres west of downtown. The TRAX Green Line light rail runs from the terminal to the central business district in about twenty minutes for a couple of dollars, making a taxi unnecessary for most arrivals. Rideshare pickup is signposted from baggage claim and takes fifteen to twenty minutes outside peak hours. Downtown itself is compact enough that attendees rarely need transport once checked in.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.

Coverage across the downtown grid and along the TRAX corridors is reliable, and conference venue wifi generally holds up. Visitors arriving from outside the United States usually find a prepaid eSIM the simplest way to have data working the moment they land. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Temple Square. The ten-acre square at the heart of downtown is the origin point of the city grid and a short walk from the convention halls. Gardens, historic granite architecture and free organ recitals fill an easy hour. November evenings bring early darkness, so arrive before dusk if photographs matter.
Natural History Museum of Utah. Set into the foothills above the University of Utah, this museum pairs a strong palaeontology collection with floor-to-ceiling windows over the valley. Allow two hours plus travel time on the TRAX Red Line. The building's terraced design is worth the visit on its own.
Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Two canyons cut into the Wasatch Range within an hour of downtown, offering early-season snow and high alpine road scenery in November. Conditions change fast at altitude, so check the road status before setting out and allow a full half day for the round trip.
Utah State Capitol. The neoclassical capitol sits on a rise directly north of downtown with an open view back across the valley. Self-guided access to the rotunda is free, and the walk up Capitol Hill takes about twenty-five minutes from the convention area. Best combined with a late afternoon.
How cold is Salt Lake City in mid-November?
Daytime highs typically sit in the single digits Celsius with overnight temperatures below freezing. The air is very dry, so a warm layer and lip balm matter more than heavy waterproofs.
Is a rental car necessary?
Not for the conference itself, since TRAX light rail links the airport, downtown and the university. A car is only worth it if you plan to drive into the Cottonwood Canyons or head to a resort.
How long is the trip from the airport?
About twenty minutes on the TRAX Green Line, or fifteen to twenty by rideshare depending on traffic.
