KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe is the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's flagship European conference, convening adopters, maintainers, and technologists from across the open source and cloud native ecosystem. Mid-March in Barcelona brings the first genuinely warm afternoons of the year. This event runs at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, south-west of the city proper — a large modern exhibition complex designed by Toyo Ito, closer to the airport than to the old town. Delegates staying near Plaça Europa should plan on a Metro ride to reach the historic centre, and Montjuïc sits conveniently between the two.
Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) is only about 15 minutes from the Fira Gran Via district, making it one of the more convenient European congress venues for air arrivals. Metro line L9 Sud connects the airport toward the exhibition area, and lines L1 and L9 serve Plaça Europa and Fira. Journeys into the historic centre take roughly 20-30 minutes by Metro.

The exhibition complex provides high-density Wi-Fi built for large technical events, though it is worth having a fallback during keynote peaks. Poble Espanyol. An open-air architectural village built for the 1929 exhibition, reproducing building styles from across Spain in a single walkable site, now with craft workshops and restaurants. Gràcia. A former independent town north of the Eixample, now a grid of small squares, independent bars and low buildings that feels distinct from central Barcelona. It is where residents go in the evening. Two to three hours, reachable by Metro in about half an hour from Fira.
