About
KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2027 is the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's flagship conference, running 8–11 November 2027 in New Orleans, Louisiana, under the Linux Foundation's event umbrella. It is the largest gathering of the cloud native community in North America, drawing adopters and technologists from the leading open source and cloud native communities for four days of collaboration, learning and innovation. The programme spans the full CNCF landscape — Kubernetes and the Graduated, Incubating and Sandbox projects around it — with the 2027 edition also foregrounding the infrastructure behind modern AI systems, reflecting how much AI workload orchestration now drives cloud native engineering. Maintainer tracks, end-user case studies and a sprawling sponsor showcase sit alongside the talks. For platform engineers, SREs and infrastructure architects, KubeCon is where project roadmaps are announced, production war stories are compared and the ecosystem's direction for the following year is effectively set. The New Orleans edition closes the 2027 conference calendar for the cloud native world and remains the single most consequential week of the year for anyone operating Kubernetes at scale.

Planning your trip to New Orleans
Contains sponsored linksKubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2027 descends on New Orleans the week of 8 November, trading the usual convention-city sterility for live brass bands and Creole kitchens. November is the city's reward season: hurricane risk fading, humidity gone, days around 15–23°C. The cloud-native community's biggest North American gathering will spill from the convention corridor along the Mississippi straight into the French Quarter's evening streets.
Getting there & around
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (MSY) lies 20 km west of downtown; a taxi or rideshare takes 25–35 minutes, and the 202 airport express bus is the budget option. There is no rail link. Once downtown, the riverfront and St. Charles streetcars cover the convention corridor, Quarter and Garden District — day passes are a few dollars — and most evening destinations are walkable from the CBD hotels.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.
Staying connected
US prepaid eSIMs installed before travel spare you airport kiosk pricing and keep rideshare and conference apps working from the jet bridge onward. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
After the sessions
French Quarter beyond Bourbon Street. Skip the neon chaos and walk Royal and Chartres streets instead: galleries, wrought-iron balconies, Jackson Square and café au lait with beignets at dawn. The Quarter is loveliest before 9am, when the light is soft and the streets are quiet.
The National WWII Museum. Regularly ranked America's best museum, its immersive pavilions sit in the Warehouse District within walking distance of the convention corridor. Even a focused visit needs three hours; the Beyond All Boundaries 4D film is worth the add-on. Tickets on Tiqets →
Garden District by streetcar. Ride the historic St. Charles streetcar beneath the live oaks, hop off at Washington Avenue, and loop past antebellum mansions and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. The round trip with a stroll takes two to three hours and costs pocket change.
Frenchmen Street live music. Where locals actually go for jazz: half a dozen clubs — The Spotted Cat, Snug Harbor, d.b.a. — within two blocks, most with no or low cover. Sets start early by music-city standards; arrive by 7pm for a seat and stay for the second band.
Good to know
Is November hurricane season?
The season officially ends 30 November, but by mid-November the practical risk is low and the weather is typically dry and mild — one of the best months to visit.
How do I get around without a car?
Streetcars and walking cover the convention corridor, CBD, Quarter and Garden District. Rideshares fill the gaps; a car is only useful for bayou or plantation day trips.
Is the tap water safe and are cards accepted?
Yes to both — tap water is safe, and cards are accepted everywhere, though small music venues sometimes prefer cash at the door.
