Open Source Analytics Conference is a hybrid event in San Francisco, CA, U.S.A. focused on AI, Data, Machine Learning. The event gathers AI and machine learning engineers for a day of talks, workshops, and peer networking in 2026. The programme covers LLMs, model deployment, MLOps, responsible AI, and practical AI integration in software products. The event is held in San Francisco, CA, U.S.A. and also streamed online, giving both in-person and remote attendees access to the full programme.
A single-day analytics conference at the start of November makes San Francisco a compressed trip: fly in, one day of talks, and whatever an evening allows. November is when the first Pacific rain systems arrive, so the reliable indoor options matter more than the viewpoints. The Mission, twenty minutes south of downtown by BART, is the district that best rewards a couple of free hours with murals, taquerias and bookshops.
BART from SFO reaches downtown in about half an hour and continues to the 16th and 24th Street Mission stations, which makes staying south of Market straightforward. Caltrain serves attendees coming up the peninsula from San José and Palo Alto. For a one-day visit, a hotel within walking distance of a BART station saves more time than one nearer the venue.

Mobile data is fast across the city centre and the Mission, though older buildings and BART platforms are dead zones. An eSIM activated before landing means no queue at the airport for international attendees on a short trip. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Mission murals and Dolores Park. Balmy and Clarion alleys hold decades of layered political mural work, a ten-minute walk from Dolores Park and its view back over the skyline. The whole circuit takes about ninety minutes on foot and is the single best use of a free afternoon in this part of the city.
Alcatraz. The island prison is reached only by the official ferry from Pier 33, and tickets routinely sell out one to two weeks ahead. The audio tour is unusually good and the round trip takes about three hours, so it needs a genuinely clear half-day rather than a gap between sessions. Tickets on Tiqets →
The Presidio and bridge viewpoints. The former army post on the northern headlands has been turned into parkland, with wooded trails leading to Crissy Field and the southern anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fort Point sits directly beneath the span. Buses run out from downtown in about half an hour.
Chinatown. The oldest Chinatown in North America packs temples, herbalists and dim sum houses into a few blocks uphill from the financial district. Stockton Street is where the neighbourhood actually shops, as opposed to Grant Avenue's souvenir stretch. It is a fifteen-minute walk from most downtown hotels.
Is one day enough to justify the trip?
For attendees already on the west coast, yes, since SFO connects to downtown in half an hour. From further afield, adding a night either side turns a single-day programme into a workable itinerary.
Will it rain in early November?
The wet season begins around then, with highs near 17°C and a real chance of showers. Rain is usually intermittent rather than all-day, but a packable waterproof is worth carrying.
How far is the airport from the conference district?
SFO is about 21 kilometres south of the city. BART is the most predictable option at roughly 30 minutes; road transfers vary from 25 minutes to over an hour in peak traffic.
