Las Vegas exists to host events of this scale, and a four-day enterprise cloud conference will occupy a resort complex where the venue, hotel rooms, restaurants and evening receptions all sit under one roof. Late September finally breaks the desert summer: afternoons remain hot but evenings become pleasant, and the surrounding Mojave landscape becomes worth visiting again.
Harry Reid International (LAS) is unusually close, around fifteen minutes by road from the Strip resorts, with rideshare pickup at designated garages rather than the terminal kerb. The Las Vegas Monorail links several east-side properties, though walking between adjacent resorts routinely takes longer than it looks on a map. A car is only worth renting for trips outside the city.

Networks in Las Vegas are built for convention loads, but tens of thousands of simultaneous attendees still strain them in the halls. Red Rock Canyon. A conservation area of red sandstone escarpments about thirty minutes west of the Strip, with a one-way scenic loop and short trails from the roadside. Timed entry reservations apply in peak periods; early morning avoids both the heat and the traffic.
Fremont Street and downtown. The original Las Vegas, five kilometres north of the Strip, with older casinos, the canopy light show and the Neon Museum's collection of retired signs nearby. The Strip after dark. The resort corridor itself is the attraction most attendees actually experience, best walked after sunset when temperatures drop. Distances are deceptive — neighbouring properties can be a fifteen-minute walk apart — so plan around one or two stops.
How far is the airport from the Strip?
Harry Reid International is about fifteen minutes by road, one of the shortest airport transfers of any major US convention city.
Is it still hot in late September?
Afternoons remain hot in the desert, but evenings are comfortable. Hydration and sun protection are still necessary during the day.
Should I rent a car?
Only for excursions such as Red Rock Canyon or Hoover Dam. Within the resort corridor, walking, the monorail and rideshare are more practical.
