PGConf India is a PostgreSQL conference that describes itself as Asia's premier event for the open source database. It is aimed at database administrators, application developers, architects and data engineers who run or build on PostgreSQL, as well as contributors to the project and companies offering PostgreSQL services, and its programme typically spans performance, administration, internals, extensions and real-world deployments. The 2027 edition is listed for Bengaluru, India, from 2 to 5 March, placing it in the country's largest technology hub and among the biggest concentrations of software engineering talent in Asia. A multi-day schedule gives room for in-depth learning as well as the main conference programme, and the event has become a reference point for the PostgreSQL community across South Asia. Attendees can expect technical talks from practitioners and community members, opportunities for deeper training, and time to network with peers, contributors and companies building on PostgreSQL. Conversations in the hallway are often as valuable as the sessions themselves. As a PostgreSQL conference in Bengaluru in 2027, PGConf India helps strengthen a regional open source database community that continues to grow alongside India's software industry.
PGConf India 2027 takes place March 2–5, 2027 in Bengaluru, India.
PGConf India 2027 is an in-person event.

PGConf India runs across four days in early March in Bengaluru, combining training days with a multi-track main conference. Early March is the last comfortable stretch before the pre-monsoon heat builds: warm afternoons, cool mornings, and the city's flowering trees starting to turn. Bengaluru is India's software capital, so a database conference here draws an unusually deep local audience alongside the international PostgreSQL contributors.
Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) sits about 35 kilometres north of the centre, and the drive can take anywhere from 60 to 110 minutes depending on the hour. Vayu Vajra airport shuttle buses run to major city points and are far cheaper than taxis. Within the city, the Namma Metro Purple and Green lines cover much of the central corridor and beat road traffic decisively at peak times.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.

Indian mobile data is fast, cheap and near-ubiquitous across Bengaluru, and most cafes and hotels add reliable Wi-Fi. Local SIM registration for visitors can be slow, so arriving with an eSIM already provisioned saves an hour or more on your first day. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Two hundred and forty acres of eighteenth-century garden in the south of the city, built around a glasshouse modelled on Crystal Palace. Early March often coincides with a flower show. Go at sunrise with the walkers and joggers; ninety minutes covers the lake and the rock outcrop.
Bangalore Palace. A Tudor-revival pile built by the Wadiyar family, incongruous and quite fun, with an audio-guided route through the halls. It is central and takes about ninety minutes. Photography carries a separate charge, so check at the ticket desk before you start.
Cubbon Park and the State Central Library. A large green wedge in the middle of the administrative district, with the red Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall library at its heart. Roads through the park close to traffic on Sundays. A good hour of walking between conference days, and easy to reach on the Purple Line.
VV Puram Food Street. A single lane in the south of the city that turns into a continuous open-air kitchen each evening, strong on dosa, chaat and sweet holige. Arrive after seven, carry cash, and eat standing up as the locals do. Allow an hour and a healthy appetite.
How long does the airport transfer take?
Plan on 60 to 110 minutes to the city centre depending on traffic. The Vayu Vajra shuttle buses are the most economical option and run to most major districts.
What is the weather like in early March?
Warm and dry, generally 18 degrees Celsius overnight rising to around 32 in the afternoon. Bengaluru's elevation keeps it milder than most Indian cities at that time of year.
Do I need a visa?
Most visitors require a visa, and many nationalities can use India's e-Visa system online in advance. Apply well before travel, as processing is not instant.
