Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) sits about 35 kilometres north of the centre, and the drive can take anywhere from 60 to 110 minutes depending on the hour. Vayu Vajra airport shuttle buses run to major city points and are far cheaper than taxis. Within the city, the Namma Metro Purple and Green lines cover much of the central corridor and beat road traffic decisively at peak times.

Cubbon Park and the State Central Library. A large green wedge in the middle of the administrative district, with the red Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall library at its heart. Roads through the park close to traffic on Sundays. A good hour of walking between conference days, and easy to reach on the Purple Line.
VV Puram Food Street. A single lane in the south of the city that turns into a continuous open-air kitchen each evening, strong on dosa, chaat and sweet holige. Arrive after seven, carry cash, and eat standing up as the locals do. Allow an hour and a healthy appetite.
How long does the airport transfer take?
Plan on 60 to 110 minutes to the city centre depending on traffic. The Vayu Vajra shuttle buses are the most economical option and run to most major districts.
What is the weather like in early March?
Warm and dry, generally 18 degrees Celsius overnight rising to around 32 in the afternoon. Bengaluru's elevation keeps it milder than most Indian cities at that time of year.
