PGCONF.ASIA is held over two days in mid-November at InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong, a design and technology hub north of the harbour rather than on Hong Kong Island. November is the reward month here: the summer humidity has finally dropped, typhoon season is over, and daytime temperatures settle into the low twenties. The venue sits directly above an interchange station, which makes reaching it from almost anywhere in the territory straightforward.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is on Lantau Island. The Airport Express reaches Kowloon in about twenty minutes and Hong Kong station in twenty-four, with free shuttle buses onward to major hotels. From Kowloon station, the MTR continues to Kowloon Tong in a few stops. An Octopus card or a contactless bank card works across the MTR, buses, trams and the Star Ferry.

Hong Kong has some of the densest mobile coverage anywhere, including inside MTR tunnels and cross-harbour crossings. Tai Kwun, Central. The former Central Police Station and Victoria Prison, converted into a heritage and contemporary art complex. Free to enter, with the prison yard and cell blocks preserved alongside gallery spaces. Two hours is comfortable, and it pairs well with the Sheung Wan streets nearby.
Temple Street Night Market. A short MTR ride from Kowloon Tong down to Jordan or Yau Ma Tei. Stalls, fortune tellers and dai pai dong seafood cooking, busiest from about eight in the evening. Go hungry, carry some cash, and treat listed prices as a starting position.
How do I reach Kowloon Tong from the airport?
Take the Airport Express to Kowloon station, then transfer to the MTR for the short run to Kowloon Tong. The whole journey is usually well under an hour.
What is the weather like in November?
One of the best months of the year: dry, sunny and generally 20 to 25 degrees Celsius, with low humidity. A light layer is enough for the evenings.
Do I need cash?
Cards and mobile payments are widely accepted, but an Octopus card is still the smoothest way to pay for transport, and street markets and small stalls often prefer cash.
