UnitedXR Europe is the European augmented and virtual reality conference and exhibition created through a partnership between the AWE series and Stereopsia. The 2026 edition takes place over three days at Maison de la Poste in Brussels, Belgium. The event is explicitly framed around strengthening Europe's position in the global immersive technology market, and the programme reflects that mix of industry, research and policy interests. Content is organised across keynote sessions, thematic agenda tracks, a scientific conference for academic work, a startup pitch competition and an awards programme, supported by an extensive expo with showcase areas. Attendees include hardware and platform companies, immersive content studios, enterprise adopters, researchers and public-sector representatives from across the European Union. Holding the event in Brussels places it alongside the European institutions, which brings a regulatory and funding dimension not present at every XR conference. For organisations building extended reality products or research programmes in Europe, UnitedXR Europe serves as the region's principal annual meeting point.
UnitedXR Europe 2026 takes place December 7–9, 2026 in Brussels, Belgium.
UnitedXR Europe 2026 is an in-person event.

Brussels hosts an immersive technology event in a city defined by institutional density — European Union bodies, research consortia and standards organisations all sit within a few square kilometres. December brings the Winter Wonders market across the Grand-Place and the Bourse district, and the city's compact scale means the historic centre, the EU quarter and most venues are within a short metro ride of one another.
Brussels Airport (BRU) connects to the central stations by train in about twenty minutes. Charleroi (CRL), used by budget carriers, is an hour away by coach. The metro, tram and bus network is integrated and simple. Brussels is also a major rail hub, with Eurostar from London, Thalys from Paris and Amsterdam, and ICE from Cologne all arriving at Bruxelles-Midi.

Coverage is strong across the city and on the metro. An eSIM avoids roaming complications for attendees travelling from outside the EU. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Grand-Place. A UNESCO-listed square enclosed by gilded guildhalls and the Gothic town hall, at its best when lit during the December Winter Wonders programme. A light and sound show runs several times each evening. Forty-five minutes, and it is unavoidably the centre of any visit.
Atomium. A 102-metre model of an iron crystal built for the 1958 World Expo, with connected spheres housing exhibitions and a viewing deck. Genuinely strange architecture. Ninety minutes including the lift and internal escalators, reached by metro to Heysel. Tickets on Tiqets →
Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts. A linked group of museums covering old masters through modern art, with the Magritte Museum as a separate wing and a strong Bruegel holding. Two to three hours, and the Magritte section alone justifies a visit for anyone interested in perceptual illusion. Tickets on Tiqets →
Comic Strip Route. More than fifty large murals of Belgian comic characters painted across the city centre, forming a self-guided walking trail. Maps are available at tourist offices. Ninety minutes covers a good selection while taking in neighbourhoods most visitors miss.
