Vivo Segura Conference is the annual digital security gathering run by Vivo, the Brazilian telecommunications operator, and returns for its fourth edition in Sao Paulo. The two-day cybersecurity conference is hosted at the Eco Berrini building in the Brooklin business district and draws roughly 250 in-person participants from security teams across Brazil. The programme spans offensive security, cyber defence, application security, cloud security and the emerging practice of securing artificial intelligence systems. The event is built around a community call for papers rather than a vendor agenda, so the schedule is assembled from practitioner case studies, original research and accounts of security initiatives taken inside real organisations. That selection process gives the Sao Paulo security conference a strong engineering focus, with sessions delivered largely in Portuguese for the Brazilian and wider Latin American security community. Attendees get a full track of technical talks, direct access to the practitioners presenting them, and a concentrated day of networking with defensive and offensive specialists working in the region. For cybersecurity professionals in Brazil, it is one of the few corporate-hosted events where the content is chosen by open submission rather than sponsorship.

Late October puts São Paulo in the first real warmth of spring, with humid afternoons around 25C and the occasional short storm. The conference sits in Brooklin, on the Berrini corporate corridor south of the centre — a district of glass towers, riverside avenues and weekday lunch counters rather than colonial streets. It is the working half of the city, quiet at weekends, and a very different São Paulo from the museum-and-avenue version most visitors are shown.
Guarulhos (GRU) handles international arrivals about 40km north; allow 60–90 minutes by taxi or ride-hail to Brooklin, longer in weekday peaks. Congonhas (CGH), the domestic airport, is far closer — usually 15–25 minutes away. The metro does not reach Berrini directly, but CPTM Line 9 (Esmeralda) runs alongside the Pinheiros river with stations at Vila Olímpia and Berrini, and it is the fastest option when traffic is heavy.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.

Brazilian mobile coverage in the Berrini business district is strong, but foreign roaming charges add up quickly across a two-day event. An eSIM activated before departure means data works from the moment the plane lands at Guarulhos. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Parque do Povo. A green break wedged between the Vila Olímpia towers, ten minutes on foot from the Berrini offices. Locals run it at dawn and fill the lawns at lunch. Useful for a genuine gap between sessions rather than a full excursion — twenty minutes is enough to walk the loop.
Instituto Tomie Ohtake. A contemporary art institute in Pinheiros, north along the river from the venue and free to enter. The building itself, by Ruy Ohtake, is the draw as much as the shows. Give it an hour after the conference day ends; it stays open into the early evening.
Mercado Municipal de Pinheiros. A weekend produce market that turns into one of the city's better casual food stops on Saturday mornings. Worth building into a Friday-night departure delay. Reachable in about fifteen minutes by ride-hail from Brooklin; go early, before eleven, while the stalls are still full.
Avenida Paulista on Sunday. The city's main avenue closes to cars every Sunday and fills with cyclists, street musicians and families. It is a straightforward metro ride from the southern districts and the easiest way to see São Paulo unguarded. Allow two hours, and go in the morning before the heat builds.
Which airport should I fly into?
Guarulhos (GRU) for international flights and Congonhas (CGH) for domestic connections. Congonhas is much closer to the Brooklin conference district, so use it if you are already flying within Brazil.
Do I need a car?
No. Ride-hailing is cheap and universal in São Paulo, and CPTM Line 9 covers the river corridor. Driving and parking in the Berrini towers is the least practical option.
What is the weather like in late October?
Spring, typically 18–27C, humid, with short heavy showers most likely in the late afternoon. A light rain layer is more useful than a coat.
Is English widely spoken?
Less than in many capitals. Hotels and the business district manage fine, but the conference programme itself runs largely in Portuguese, and a translation app is worth having for taxis and restaurants.
