Consensus is CoinDesk's flagship digital assets conference, held in May 2027 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Organisers expect more than 15,000 attendees from over 100 countries, drawn from crypto companies, traditional finance, technology firms, and policy institutions. The 2027 programme is organised around three central themes: operating crypto infrastructure at scale, institutional integration of tokenised securities, and the emergence of AI agents in financial markets. Alongside the main stages, the event carries developer-focused sessions, an extensive exhibition, side programming across Miami Beach, and dedicated tracks for investors and policymakers. Because Consensus draws regulators and institutional allocators as well as protocol teams, it functions as one of the few venues where the technical, financial, and policy sides of digital assets meet directly. Attendees gain a broad read on market direction, access to institutional counterparties, and technical sessions from teams operating production blockchain systems. It remains one of the most consequential blockchain conferences on the annual calendar.
Consensus 2027 takes place May 4–6, 2027 in Miami Beach, United States.
Consensus 2027 is an in-person event.

Early May is the sweet spot for Miami Beach: hot enough for the ocean, before the summer humidity and the storm season arrive. A crypto conference here puts delegates on a barrier island connected to the mainland by causeways, where art deco hotels line Ocean Drive and the convention district sits a few blocks inland. Downtown Miami and Brickell, across the water, are where the finance industry actually works.
Miami International (MIA) is around thirty to forty minutes by road to the beach, traffic permitting. Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is a similar distance from the north and often cheaper. There is no rail link across to Miami Beach, so rideshare, taxi or the airport bus are the options. On the island itself, walking and short rideshare hops cover most distances.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.

Coverage is strong across the island and the mainland business districts. International delegates should note that US roaming bundles are expensive by European standards, and an eSIM is typically the cheaper route for a week-long stay. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Art Deco Historic District. Around eight hundred preserved buildings from the 1920s and 1930s concentrated along Ocean Drive, Collins and Washington Avenues, best seen early before the heat and the crowds. Guided walks explain the pastel-and-chrome vocabulary properly. Ninety minutes on foot. Tickets on Go City →
Wynwood Walls. A former warehouse district on the mainland turned over to large-scale commissioned murals, now surrounded by galleries, breweries and restaurants. It is about twenty minutes from the beach. The work is repainted periodically, so it changes between visits. Two hours. Tickets on Tiqets →
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. An Italianate villa built in 1916 on Biscayne Bay, with formal gardens running down to a stone barge in the water. Timed tickets are required and morning slots are cooler. Roughly two hours, and reachable by Metrorail plus a short walk from the beach side. Tickets on Tiqets →
South Pointe Park and the beach walk. The southern tip of the island, where a paved path runs beside the shipping channel and cruise ships pass close by. It links north into the beachfront boardwalk for several miles. Sunrise here is the local ritual. An hour, longer if the walk continues north.
How do delegates get from the airport to Miami Beach?
By road only, typically thirty to forty minutes. No rail crosses to the island, so rideshare or the airport bus are the practical options.
What is the weather like in early May?
Hot and humid with strong sun, and short afternoon showers are common. It sits before the main hurricane season, which begins in June.
Is a car worth renting?
Rarely. Parking on the island is expensive and limited, and rideshare handles the causeway trips to Wynwood, Brickell and downtown.
