Late November is when the Gulf becomes comfortable again: daytime temperatures settle around the high twenties, humidity drops and outdoor terraces reopen. ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi sits on the mainland just south of the island's downtown, a large purpose-built exhibition complex with hotels attached and the Grand Mosque only a short drive away. For a two-day Web3 expo, everything from arrival hall to evening networking stays within a compact radius.
Zayed International Airport (AUH) is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from ADNEC by taxi. Dubai is about 90 minutes away by road, and intercity coaches run frequently between the two emirates. Abu Dhabi has no metro, so taxis and ride-hailing are the default; distances are long and walking between districts is not realistic even in mild weather.
Skip the taxi queue — pre-book a fixed-price airport transfer with Kiwitaxi. Exploring beyond the city? compare rental cars on EconomyBookings.
Venue and hotel Wi-Fi in Abu Dhabi is dependable, but taxi booking and event apps matter most in the gaps between. Note that some voice-over-IP calling apps are restricted in the UAE, so arranging an eSIM before travel gives you a reliable data line from landing. Set up an eSIM with Airalo before you board and you're online the moment you land.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Ten minutes from ADNEC and the single most striking building in the emirate, with white marble courtyards and an enormous hand-knotted carpet. Entry is free but requires modest dress and a booked time slot. Late afternoon into dusk is the best window, when the exterior lighting shifts.
Louvre Abu Dhabi. Jean Nouvel's museum on Saadiyat Island, about 25 minutes away, where a perforated dome creates a shifting rain of light over the galleries. The collection is arranged chronologically across cultures rather than by nation. Two to three hours, and the waterfront terrace is pleasant in November. Tickets on Klook →
Qasr Al Watan. The presidential palace at Ras Al Akhdar, opened to visitors, with a vast domed great hall and an exhibition on Arab governance and knowledge. Around two hours, plus the evening light-and-sound projection if your schedule allows. Tickets are timed and best booked ahead. Tickets on Klook →
The Corniche. Eight kilometres of landscaped waterfront promenade along the island's north-west edge, with cycle paths and public beach sections. November evenings are ideal for a walk or a rented bike after sessions end. Free, open at all hours, and about fifteen minutes from the venue.
What is the weather like in Abu Dhabi in late November?
Warm and comfortable, with daytime highs typically in the high twenties Celsius, low humidity and cool evenings. It is one of the better months for spending time outdoors.
Do I need a car to get around?
A car is not necessary but some form of motorised transport is. Abu Dhabi has no metro, so plan on metered taxis or ride-hailing, which are widely available and reasonably priced.
Is there a dress code to be aware of?
Business or smart casual is fine at the venue and hotels. Religious sites such as the Grand Mosque require covered shoulders and knees, with a headscarf for women, and abayas are lent at the entrance.
