Korean mobile infrastructure is among the fastest anywhere, and free public Wi-Fi is widespread on the subway and in cafes. Gyeongbokgung Palace. The principal Joseon dynasty palace, largely reconstructed, with a changing of the guard ceremony at the main gate several times daily. Bukhansan National Park. Granite peaks rising directly at the northern edge of the city, reachable by subway and a short bus in under an hour. Trails range from gentle temple walks to scrambles up bare rock. It is among the most-visited national parks in the world for good reason. A full day.
Gwangjang Market. A covered market operating since the early twentieth century, best known for the food alleys where vendors cook mung bean pancakes and knife-cut noodles at counter seats. Busiest in the evening. Cash is still useful at the older stalls. Ninety minutes. Tickets on Klook →
