Quantum.Tech World 2027 is the eighth edition of the global event for quantum computing, AI and high-performance computing, co-located for the first time with Compute.Tech. Six concurrent tracks span qubit architecture through post-quantum cryptography, reflecting the integration of quantum processors into HPC and AI environments. Quantum.Tech World meets in late May, co-located with Compute.Tech, in a metropolitan area that is arguably the densest quantum and computing research cluster on earth. Late May in Boston and Cambridge means graduation season: the universities are at their most animated, the riverbank is busy, and the weather has settled into reliable warmth. Crossing the Charles to Kendall Square puts you inside the research ecosystem the conference programme is describing.
Logan International (BOS) is barely five kilometres from the centre. Ride-hailing and taxis reach Cambridge and Kendall Square in 20 to 35 minutes through the tunnels. On public transport, the Silver Line runs free from the terminals to South Station, where the Red Line continues across the river to Kendall and Harvard. Note that graduation weekends push hotel prices sharply upward, so book early.

Signal strength across Cambridge and the Seaport is excellent and most university and lab buildings carry open guest networks. For international attendees an eSIM purchased ahead of travel is the simplest approach, avoiding both roaming charges and the hunt for a physical SIM on arrival. MIT Museum, Kendall Square. Relocated into a purpose-built space near the Red Line, covering robotics, artificial intelligence, holography and the institute's own research history. Directly relevant to anyone attending a quantum and computing conference. Ninety minutes, and the hands-on galleries reward slowing down.
Harvard Square and Harvard Yard. Two Red Line stops beyond Kendall, with the Yard open to walk through and bookshops clustered around the square. Late May is commencement season, so expect gowns and crowds. Two hours including a wander down Brattle Street.
Museum of Science. Straddling the Charles River dam between Boston and Cambridge, with a planetarium, a lightning theatre and a strong physical sciences floor. Boston Harbor Islands. A national recreation area of thirty-four islands reached by ferry from Long Wharf. Georges Island and its Civil War fort make an easy half day. Ferry service is fully running by late May; check the return timetable before you sail, as sailings thin out early evening.
Should I stay in Boston or Cambridge?
Either works. Kendall Square puts you next to the research cluster and one Red Line stop from downtown, while the Seaport and Back Bay offer more hotel capacity.
What is the weather like in late May?
Warm and generally settled, around 15 to 23 degrees Celsius, with cooler air off the water in the evenings. Humidity has not yet built to summer levels.
Why are hotels so expensive that week?
